Building Our Disney Vacation…

All vacation planning has to start somewhere, right? For us, the first step is usually deciding when we want to go. Being a teacher, we’re fairly limited in when we’re able to travel, and summer typically is when we plan our bigger trips, both due to flexibility in timing and slightly lower travel prices.

Starting when it was just the 2 of us, we fell into a bi-annual pattern with our Disney visits. Since we traveled last summer, we are on track to visit again in 2025.

Now that we’ve pinned down some (tentative) dates, next on our list is to book our resort accommodations. Our last 2 trips we had a young toddler in tow, and we decided to give DVC rental a try, and to be honest we will probably never look back. Our next trip will be our first with 2 kids, ages 5 & 1 (insert sweating emoji here), so park proximity and pool will be our top priority this time. We have our sights set on Fort Wilderness Lodge, and fingers crossed, will get ourselves into a Copper Creek 1 or 2 bedroom suite. This time we will be using DVC rental store for the first time, and will share our opinions on the experience after!

After we book our resort, we start to look at flights, looking at both cost AND timing. Since Disney will be offering FREE admission into Typhoon Lagoon on the first day of your trip beginning in 2025, we’re hoping to get settled in earlier enough to take advantage.

Once flights and accommodations are set, we save the rest of the planning for closer to when we travel…park tickets, airport transportation, grocery order, and any special reservations or experiences we’re hoping to snag. This trip we won’t be doing any dining reservations, but we ARE hoping to do the Fireworks Dessert Party for a second time (another blog post on this coming soon).

This trip is still in the very early stages of coming together, but we are already getting excited and will share our planning along the way.
