What I Pack in My Park Bag

As a new mom of 2, I know how easy it can be to overwhelm yourself & overpack when leaving the house with babies and toddlers. I myself am guilty of this (believe me…we just got home from a week at the beach, and I felt like we went with everything but the kitchen sink). However, overpacking when spending the day at the parks is the last thing you want to do. The more you bring, the more you have to carry and keep track of, not to mention getting on and off transportation becomes a huge PIA. I try to keep things as minimal as possible and only bring what I know we will absolutely need/use.

This is what I pack in my bag every time we hit the park to keep our personal items to a minimum. Of course, everyone’s needs are different, and families can adjust things based on their kiddos ages and personal preferences.

  1. Handheld/stroller fan

You will definitely want a couple rechargeable fans to bring to the parks. My son never loved the ones that attach to the stroller, so we always bring these cute handheld Mickey fans.

  2. Portable sound machine

If you have a baby or a toddler who is still napping, you probably already have one, but I HIGHLY recommend bringing one to Disney. It’s overstimulating and exhausting and sometimes a stroller nap is needed. Last time we went, my son was 3 and on 1 nap a day, but still fell asleep in the stroller almost every afternoon.

  3. Diaper changing clutch with diapers, wipes, and disposable changing pads

Rather than bring my whole big bag into the bathroom for every change, I carry this diaper changing clutch with us when we leave the house & have it packed with a few diapers, wipes, these disposable changing pads & hand sanitizer. Every afternoon & night, I restock for our next visit to the park.

  4. Sunscreen

Maybe an obvious one, but don’t forget to bring extra sunscreen and use it!

  5. Snacks

Disney has so many awesome snacks, but they also allow you to bring in your own. We always keep ours packed with applesauce, cheddar bunnies, or a few other go to favorites.

  6. Restaurant bag

One of the best things I threw together for our first trip as parents. This bag comes with us to every restaurant to help make meal time easier. Inside a little pouch I keep

    1. Sticky placemats & crayons

    2. Kids silicone straws

    3. Hand wipes

    4. Gummies or lollipops

    5. A couple tiny toys (my son loves cars, so we bring mini die-cast cars)

In addition to our diaper/park bag, we also always bring water & liquid IV for ourselves, and keep our rain gear/stroller cover stashed in the stroller basket so we don’t ever forget it.
