Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Out of the 4 theme parks at WDW, Disney’s Animal Kingdom rises above the rest for me! The pro’s in my opinion far outweigh the cons. Let’s go through them and i’ll see if I can convert this park into your favorite as well!
Pros
Ambiance - Natural themed landscapes and habitats of the different lands with each their unique vibe.
Immersive theming - From the many water features, Safari’s, Mountains and Pandora (floating trees, need I say more?) You do truly feel transported to different lands in a way that the other parks cannot offer.
Live Animals - The live animal exhibits around the entire park are delightful, educational and Disney goes to great lengths to help these animals thrive and live their best lives (does not have a “zoo” feel to it)
Two Great Rides - Pandora’s Flight of Passage is my favorite non-coaster ride in WDW and Expedition Everest is my favorite coaster!
Details - From the many “hidden” animals in the tree of life to the reveal of Mount Everest’s peaks and of course the floating trees in Pandora (again)!
Food Options - Tiffin’s and Harambe Market are great for trying authentic African cuisine! Satu’li Canteen is where you can find unique “offerings” from Pandora!
Festival of The Lion King - This show is probably one of the best live shows on property! Broadway level singing and a giant Pumba!

Cons
Location - Animal Kingdom is the furthest park from most resort clusters. It can take some time to get to and from the park so make sure to build in extra time.
Transportation - The only free Disney transportation to AK is by bus. The bus service works fine but it is the least exciting, especially when you are jammed packed at park close with a lot of sweaty people!
Summer Heat - I’m not sure why but AK and Hollywood Studios always seem wayyy hotter than the other two parks in the summer months. AK seems to have a lot of shade built in but its still very very hot with a lot less buildings that can provide air condition.
Dinoland USA - I know this is earmarked (see what I did there) for a complete renovation into new lands. We will find out more with the upcoming D23. I’m hoping with a new land in the area, it can take this park to an even higher level!
In conclusion, the pros for Disney’s Animal Kingdom far outweigh the cons! I am hopeful that the new announcements to come will bring a new great land to AK.
One (very far fetched) idea I have would be for Disney to bring Raya & The Last Dragon to life with an awesome dragon ride! After all, the original Animal Kingdom was supposed to have a fantasy land based around dragons, plus it would fit the already existing Asia area in the park.
