Top Things On Our D23 Announcement Wishlist
D23 is a Disney fan event where Disney usually unveils major announcements company wide. It basically a giant hype fest for all nerdy Disney fans like us! Below are some announcements we hope to hear during the event.
The Return Of The Magical Express

Disney’s Magical Express was a great, free service provided by Disney that would pick up guests traveling to MCO (Orlando International Airport) and drop them off at their resort. “The Tragical Express” returned Disney’s resort guests back to MCO after their vacation was complete.
In January 2022, Disney discontinued the service. This forced guests to seek alternatives such as Ubers, Taxis, private transfer services or Mears Connect.
While Mears Connect is basically the same thing, it certainly lacks the Disney magic and honestly we have not had the same level of guest experience with Mears Connect that we were used to with The Magical Express.
I do believe that Disney was banking on the new Brightline train service to plan their route from MCO towards Tampa, directly through a new Disney station. That did not happen.
I wouldn’t be opposed to Disney even making the service a paid “add-on”. It just makes traveling with my wife and two little kids wayyyy easier and fun.
Skyliner Expansion
Expansion 1
Fort. Wilderness to TTC.
This is a simple connection that allows the last remaining Magic Kingdom Deluxe Resort direct access to the Epcot Monorail loop!
Expansion 2
4 Resorts to Disney Springs and Existing Skyline Station
This would give a much needed upgrade to the transportation that these resorts offer. OKW and SSR are both Deluxe DVC Resorts, but in my opinion have some of the worst bus transportation in the parks. This would alleviate the need to take the lengthy bus rides to all parks.
The Plan for the Teased Park Expansions
The last D23 event Disney Parks teased a bunch of “Blue Sky” ideas. While this was fun to watch, there was no actual plans confirmed about park expansions or renovations.
This year I want Disney to announce firm plans for:
Beyond Big Thunder Mountain in Magic Kingdom
Animal Kingdom replacement for DinoLand USA area
New Park Expansion Ideas
Two new lands that I would really like to see added the the parks.
Villians Land - Magic Kingdom near The Haunted Mansion
Pixar Land - Hollywood Studio, area between Rock ‘n’ Roller Rollercoaster and Toy Story Land
Lakeside Lodge DVC Resort
I would like to see Disney’s Lakeside Lodge back on the table! This was billed as a more tranquil and relaxing resort with DVC villas. It was in the area of Fort Wilderness Lodge and would fit in perfectly with my new Skyliner to TTC plan!
As far as the resort, it would be more laid back and have a chill environment. I like this idea to relax after long days in the parks with a lot of stimulation. I picture, a lot of nature scapes with streams running through them and the largest “quiet” pool on Disney property (it would still have a great pool bar and snack shack though).
